John Alan Davis, age 56, of Elyria, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Cleveland, after a 17 year illness.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 20 years. He previously lived in Cleveland and North Ridgeville.
John worked as a supervisor for York International from 1989 until 1997.
He was a member of Church of the Open Door in Elyria.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl (nee Hammond); daughter, Brooke Elizabeth Davis of Elyria; step-son, Captain Leonard Joseph Spigiel II of Little Rock, Arkansas; step-daughter, Ali Marie Spigiel of Elyria; brothers, Kenneth (Trish) LaCrone of Cross Plains, Tennessee, Robert (Julie) Davis of Tampa, Florida; sister, Pamela Stork of Tennessee; nephews, Brandon and Jake LaCrone of Tennessee; many other nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary LaCrone; step-father, Robert LaCrone and sister, Sandy LaCrone.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Rev. Kareem Smith will officiate.
Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
