Our friend Queen Bernie,
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. It seems like only yesterday that we spent so much time at St.Peter's fish fries. Jeno, as we called him in Hungarian, would always have on his fish cap and we would laugh as much as we worked. He even allowed me to be your assistant when you were the Sheriff of the lunch room. As a fellow Knight and friend are prayers are with him as enters his just reward.

Gene,
Touched my life with friendship and humor. As a new Knight he mentored me and showed me the ropes. He will be missed by alot of people. The love and friendship he showed all that came into his life. I'm sure he will keep God entertained. God did bring home a special man.

Love,
The Grimes Family

Bernie and Family,

We are deeply saddened by your loss of Gene. They say a person comes into your life for a reason. This is particularly true in the case of you and Gene. Although are face to face contact with you occurred only at special occasions or when we came to visit Barb and Ted, we always had wonderful memories of that time we had with you and Gene. You hardly knew us yet you always made us feel welcome.

Love you all! Gene laying in a hospital bed, tubes sticking out, a few hours after surgery and he and I are laughing & carrying on we even had the nurses in on it. Oh Gene no one could change a moment from tears to joy in a moment like you with your smile & laugh. You are still with me in my thoughts of all our times with the Barto family & me at St. Julie. I will never forget the first time I met Gene Barto. We were moving in next door and he came over and invited us to a party at his house the next night. He and his family "adopted" my husband Bill and me and we have felt like family since that time. Gene loved life, family and friends. No matter how long it had been since I had seen him as soon as he hugged me I felt like I
